GRW Sites
GRW is based on a small site nestled in the Victorian streets of Windsor, a short walk from the town centre, and near to Windsor Great Park. We are also very close to the other sites we use during the week - The Windsor Leisure Centre, our allotment and The Swan CIC Community Centre, where we hold a number of lessons. You can see a virtual tour here and find some more info below.
The Green Room Windsor
This is our main site where pupils arrive every morning and where our lessons take place. We have Maths and English classrooms, our Science Lab and Art Room, our studio, our makerspace and our big kitchen/diner - our main meeting point and where we hold circle times.
The Allotment
The allotment is used reguarly and is the home of our Market Garden which is often harvested to sell produce at The Swan. Both GR6 and the GRW spend time here, being outside and participating in physical activitiy is not only therapeutic but rewarding for pupils to see the fruits of their labour being eaten at lunch time or sold in the Market. Pupils often use the outside space for their Engineering lessons too.
The Swan
The Swan Pub in Clewer is not only a community owned pub, but the home of our sixth form GR6, which is based in the school house and technical suite. Lower school pupils use the classroom for Engineering and the technical suite for Gaming on Fridays.
The Windsor Leisure Centre
Sport is crucial to the success of our curriculum and so four times a week we take the five minute walk to The Leisure Centre where pupils and staff have access to all the facilities and are able to engage in a high energy and focussed sports session. This includes a variety of sport such as cricket, benchball, football, gym and even swimming.
