Brick Laying in Trade

GRK pupils have been busy learning about bricklaying in their Trade lessons this week with our Trade teacher, Scott, who has a lot of previous knowledge and experience with bricklaying. The pupils have really taken a liking to it, been actively engaged and got stuck in without hesitation. Scott taught them what tools and quality of bricks were needed, how to lay them effectively and how they would mix the cement. Whilst the pupils are still learning and practising, they have used wet sand as a cement substitute. This topic is also a part of the older pupils' BTEC qualification. All in all, a great topic in Trade at the moment, a really hand skill to learn and they all thoroughly enjoyed it!
