Our Winter Fayre & Christmas Market, where we welcome our friends and family to celebrate all that’s wonderful about this time of year with us, has become a firm tradition for the festive season. This year’s event was bigger and better than ever as we took over The Swan’s courtyard and outbuildings, thanks to our sixth formers’ residency at The Swan School House. Staff and pupils from both our Kingsley and Windsor schools provided stalls and fun experiences, including Ellie’s Dog Treats stall, a mad professor-themed escape room run by Alan, Connor’s brews, and Lexie’s extra cool Burlesque Boutique. Santa also made his annual appearance!
The whole event was planned and organised by Windsor’s sixth form pupils, led by Maddie, as part of their PiXL Edge Masters qualification, a project-based course which develops students’ LORIC (leadership, organisation, resilience, initiative and communication) attributes. Windsor staff also took part in the town’s annual Living Advent Calendar, with a promenade theatre performance of ‘A Swan Christmas Carol’. The performance was the highlight of the evening and attracted a huge crowd. Throughout the day and evening, it was estimated that almost 400 people came through the gates to savour the unique experience, and it was The Swan’s most successful event ever.
