On Thursday 5th March, GRK pupils and staff paid a lovely visit to Waterstones in Alton to celebrate World Book Day, where each pupil bought a book of their choice. Upon arrival, we discussed how to effectively find books within the shop, to look for the signs above the book shelves indicating what genre will be in that section, and how the books are in alphabetical order by author’s surname. The pupils were excited to be able to look around at their own pace, find a book, buy and it and take it home. Everyone was in high spirits and found the experience very relaxing and inspiring. We also included a few little games such as being given a list of books to find around the shop. All in all, the trip was a total success and it was truly wonderful to see all the pupils enjoying their books and being so engaged.
